In our view sponsorship would be us paying a player to use our equipment, but why would we do that? Well the player would almost certainly be playing professionally in the game and the cost of this would have to generate more money in extra revenue than it cost to pay the player. This requires us to pay the player up front and to charge more for the cricket equipment in order to reclaim this expense, so who ends up paying for this? you. We are not prepared to do that as those lucky enough to play the game at the highest level are comparatively well paid and we don't see why you should pay more to pamper them. Brands may take the route of paying a legion of players and be forced to lower the quality of their equipment and raise the prices to create enough profit to balance the books, both of these options are unattractive to us.
The other main type of sponsorship is basically a discount of 25-50% off an overinflated RRP that no one pays in the first place. We could take this route of creating an imaginary RRP that we would never charge to create the impression of making sponsored players happy but it is not something we would want to be associated with. We want to sell at a fair price and this would prevent that happening.
We have a slightly different idea, our equipment is not cheap, we only ever go for the very best products and they typically carry a high price but offer the best value for money. We will be offering an Instinct family scheme that will enable those invited to purchase kit for substantially less than our direct prices and also a lot more besides purely price. We will shortly be listing the full details of this scheme so keep watching the website for further details.
